A complete range of services

Chateau has the professional staff and systems in place to meet a complete range of senior care needs. We offer everything from independent living suites to 24-hour personal care. These capabilities make it possible to customize services to the individual needs of every resident and family. As needs change, we can seamlessly transition to a more appropriate level of care.

Couples welcomed

The wide range of services available at Chateau make it ideal for couples to age in place. One spouse can live independently while the other receives more advanced care. Even with greatly varying needs, couples can still live under one roof and continue seeing each other every day. We know family is important, and we’re committed to finding the best solution for every situation.

The starting point: a personal assessment interview

As you or a loved one consider making Chateau your home, we’ll meet with you to get a clear picture of the assistance required and the services you would prefer.

Together, we’ll discuss considerations like mobility and cognitive abilities. We’ll talk about the current level of assistance required with daily activities, such as dressing, eating, hygiene and toileting. When appropriate, we may also consult with medical advisors and explore the longer term outlook, including medical issues and end of life care.

A key part of the discussion will be how the family wishes to stay involved. Our aim is not to replace family care; it’s to care for your loved ones like family.

Your customized plan: the services and accommodations right for you

At the assessment interview, we’ll recommend a Care Package based on our assessment of your individual needs.  Together we will establish an individualized care plan designed for you. The monthly fee will vary depending on the care package chosen for you.

Care plans are tailored to meet the individuals’ needs of each client. We are able to provide diabetic management and Insulin monitoring, catheter care when/if required, Oxygen Therapy, Ostomy care, Palliative care and End of life care.

We may recommend a suite in the West Wing, which is designed for independent seniors requiring minimal assistance with daily living. Or, we may suggest accommodations in the East Wing, which is equipped with hospital beds, mechanical lifts and other specialized equipment for advanced care.

The health and well-being of all our residents at Chateau is our number one priority. Our trained staff provide 24/7 personal care and monitoring. To ensure that we continue to maintain and meet the needs of our residents as well as government standards, we hold care conferences twice a year. Additionally, we routinely conduct multidisciplinary meetings to assess and monitor the resident’s progress.

Everyone living at Chateau can access the many services and amenities on site, including help with daily activities, library centre, housekeeping and linen services.

Our care team: a helping hand when you need it most

Chateau maintains a 7:1 client-to-staff ratio. All services are carried out by caring and compassionate team members, including licensed practical nurses, continuing care aides and an activities coordinator. Our highly experienced Director of Care ensures team members have the training and credentials they need to help residents enjoy a safe, comfortable and convenient life at The Chateau.

All care staff are equipped with a mobile device that is directly connected to personal pendants provided to all residents. They also monitor the Wanderguard bracelets that provide an additional level of security for residents with dementia.

All professional nursing staff and care aides are trained to the highest standards. All staff must have a current criminal record check and be certified in CPR, Emergency First Aid, TLR (Transfer, Lifting and Repositioning, including our Hoyer Lift), WHMIS and medication distribution.

In addition, Chateau provides an in-house physician who visits weekly.

In conjunction with government guidelines, Chateau requires all staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID -19 and we adhere to strict Covid-19 protocols that are in place within the building.
